The Counseling & Psychological Services Center is proud to announce a new program “Transfer Connect.” Transfer Connect is meant to improve and enhance the transfer student experience. Many transfer students identify their three primary stressors as homesickness, financial stress, and a lack of connectedness to the university and community. Many students also report feeling a lack of social integration and involvement with their peers following their decision to attend ASU.
A number of workshops will address these unique needs in an informal and approachable manner. Our intent is to assist through a number of programs ensure that transfer students are aware of campus and community resources which can increase their sense of academic self-efficacy and provide them with practical training on life and coping skills. We would also like to offer time and space for students to come together and interact socially, with the goal of increasing social connectedness and involvement within the ASU community.
