Assistance With Finding Jobs After Internship
The staff at the Counseling Center offers interns as much assistance as possible in securing employment after the internship. A seminar is offered in the Fall and Spring Semesters to assist interns in learning about the job hunting process. We make it a priority to critique vitaes, write reference letters, offer advice and support, etc. Our former interns have been employed in a variety of settings, including university counseling centers, private practice, community mental health centers, school systems, education, and research and development.
The Counseling Center offers after-hours emergency coverage for urgent mental health concerns such as suicidal thoughts, sexual assault, and other trauma. Call the Counseling Center at 828-262-3180 and select the option to speak with the counselor on-call.
During operating hours, students in crisis can walk in any time.
