If You are Worried About a Friend:
- Be supportive of your friend, communicating your care and concern, while at the same time expressing that you would like to help them find another way to cope.
- Don't minimize their distress, and be careful not to criticize them.
- Provide encouragement, including finding a therapist or therapy group to help.
- If the person seems to be in immediate danger, do not hesitate to call emergency personnel.
